Organization of Library Collection

The organization of the library collection follows the Dewey Decimal Classification System. This system categorizes books and other library materials based on subject matter, assigning a unique numerical code to each topic. The digits in the code represent specific categories, allowing for a systematic arrangement of materials on the shelves. With this organizational framework, patrons can easily locate relevant materials, as items on similar subjects are grouped together. The Dewey Decimal Classification System provides a standardized and efficient method for organizing and accessing diverse resources within the library's collection.

No Lockers/Baggage Counters

Students and other users may bring their bags inside the library as the IHS library has no lockers/ baggage counters for the safety and security of students’ belongings.

Filipiniana TextBooks/Books

Filipiniana textbooks/ books on open shelves are treated as circulation books therefore they may be borrowed for home use. High school students and teachers mostly use textbooks for their classes and assignments.
